I’ve always assumed it was a shortened version of "whore". (That’s the word that rhymes with shore but starts with a "w" if big brother censors it).
It is a slurrling of the language from wh0re, from the same folks who say "ax" instead of "ask"

Hore was then introduced to english where it has a etymology transformation to Whore. This word again had a etymology transformation due to excess use as a slang word to Hoe.
